Poem on Scaphoid Bone

ANATOMY AIIMS, GROSS ANATOMY, EMBRYOLOGY, NEUROANATOMY, MICROANATOMY, APPLIED/ CLINICAL ANATOMY Scaphoid Bone
A bone so small, yet mighty in its task,
The scaphoid bone, within our wrist does bask,
With eight carpal bones, it makes its place,
With unique features that give it grace.
Its shape is that of a boat so sleek,
With four facets, its design is unique,
On one end, it connects with the radius,
And on the other, it forms part of the carpal matrix.
The proximal pole, where vessels do arrive,
Providing life-giving blood to keep it alive,
Its lateral surface, where tubercle does grow,
Attachments for the muscles, this bone does show.
The brachioradialis, an extensor short,
Attaches to the tubercle, a vital support,
The flexor pollicis longus, the tendons do glide,
Aiding in wrist flexion, movements so refined.
The scaphoid's waist, where fractures can occur,
Needs to be treated, else it may cause a stir,
Its palmar surface, where tendons do rest,
Assisting in movement, it's quite impressive.
The scaphoid, an essential bone indeed,
Its strength and resilience, a remarkable breed,
Without it, the wrist would be weak,
So, let's cherish it, and treat it with care we seek.
